Getting Started on Humraah

How to create your profile, what you need, and how the account works.

Registration takes under 15 minutes and happens entirely on humraah.in — no app download needed. Choose your section (Pehla Rishta for first marriage, or Naya Safar for divorced or widowed individuals). Verify your WhatsApp number with a 6-digit OTP, choose between Self Managed and Family Managed, complete your profile across 5 blocks, pay ₹499, and complete Aadhaar OTP verification. Your profile is reviewed by our team and goes live within 24 hours.
Three things: (1) A WhatsApp-active Indian mobile number. (2) An Aadhaar card — for real-time government identity verification after payment. (3) ₹499 — paid via any standard Indian payment method. No documents to upload. No references needed.
Under 15 minutes for most families. The profile form is split into five blocks with one screen at a time — basic details, faith and practice, education and career, physical details, and family background. Aadhaar OTP verification adds 2–3 minutes. Profile review by our team takes up to 24 hours before your profile goes live.
Yes. The Family Managed path lets a parent or guardian register on behalf of their son or daughter, fill all profile details, receive every introduction, and manage every response. The candidate can be added as a co-manager later, but this is entirely optional. All WhatsApp alerts go to the Family Manager’s number.
Yes. Most profile fields can be updated from your Account Settings at any time. Any significant change — education, career, city, or relationship details — will be reviewed by our team before going live again. Your profile remains active during this brief review.
Yes. You can pause your profile from Account Settings at any time. New introductions stop arriving while you are paused. When you are ready to resume, reactivate and introductions continue from the next scheduled slot. There is no penalty and no additional charge.
Contact us on WhatsApp immediately. Our team handles verification issues personally. Aadhaar verification uses the government’s DigiLocker system — if an OTP does not arrive or a mismatch occurs, we walk you through the resolution process directly.
Yes. You can switch your management type from Account Settings at any time. If a parent wishes to take over profile management, or if the candidate wants to take co-ownership, this can be configured easily. All WhatsApp alerts will route to whichever number is designated as primary.
Contact us via WhatsApp on your old number or email us at the address in your registration confirmation. We will update your primary number after verifying your identity through your Aadhaar-linked name.
Yes. You can request full account deletion from Account Settings or by contacting us on WhatsApp. All personal data — including your Aadhaar-verified details and profile information — will be permanently removed within 7 working days. This is your right under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act.
If your previous registration is still active, you cannot create a duplicate account. If you previously deleted your account, you may register fresh with a new ₹499 registration. Contact us on WhatsApp to confirm your status before re-registering.
Contact us on WhatsApp. We can move your profile to the correct section without requiring a new registration or additional payment. CAT 2
Privacy & Safety
Privacy & Safety

Privacy is Architecture, Not a Setting

How your personal information, photos, and data are protected on Humraah.

Never. Your daughter’s photo is uploaded during registration but is never shown on the introduction card that other families see. It only becomes accessible inside the 5-day supervised chat — and only after both families have independently said YES to each other. This is built into the platform architecture, not a privacy setting that can be changed.
No. Humraah has no public profile directory. You cannot be searched, found, or browsed by other members. You only appear as an introduction card — sent privately to specific families — and only that card is visible, not your full profile.
Your WhatsApp number is visible only to Humraah’s internal systems — never to other members. It is not on your introduction card, not in your profile, and not shared with any other family at any stage — until both families choose to PROCEED at the end of the 5-day chat. Contact details are exchanged mutually, and not before.
Every profile goes through Aadhaar OTP verification against the Government of India’s identity database before going live. This is a real-time government check — not a self-certified badge or a document upload. The person on every introduction card is verified, their name is confirmed, and their identity is government-attested. No profile goes live without this.
Contact us on WhatsApp immediately. We investigate every report personally and act the same day. Misrepresentation in any form — education, income, lifestyle, family status — is grounds for permanent removal from the platform. This is a moral commitment, not just a policy.
Humraah does not store your Aadhaar number. The verification process confirms your identity against the government database in real time. Once verified, only the confirmed name and verification status are retained in your account — your Aadhaar number itself is never stored on our servers.
Yes. Humraah complies with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA). Your personal data is used only to power the introduction process and is never sold to advertisers, shared with third parties, or used for any other purpose. You can request deletion of your data at any time.
All personal data — profile information, Aadhaar verification status, introduction history, and chat records — is permanently deleted within 7 working days of your request. Nothing is retained or archived after deletion.
Humraah contacts you only through the WhatsApp number you verified at registration, through your dashboard, or from our official email address. If anyone contacts you from an unknown number or through any other channel claiming to represent Humraah, do not share any personal information. Report it to us immediately.
Yes. Inside the 5-day supervised chat, you can report any message or close the chat at any time. If you feel a family’s conduct is inappropriate, report it to us via WhatsApp and we will investigate immediately. The chat has an automatic content filter, and our team is available for human review of any concern. CAT 3
The Introduction Process
The Introduction Process

How Halal Matchmaking Works

How introductions work, what you will see, and what each step of the process involves.

Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, one curated introduction appears on your dashboard. You see a card with the person’s name, age, city, sect, practice level, education, profession, 3 character traits, and Wali status — but never their photo. You respond YES, NO, or LATER. You must respond before the next introduction appears. Maximum 3 introductions per week. Quality over volume, always.
Your first introduction typically arrives within 3–5 business days of your profile going live. As Humraah is currently in its early growth phase and actively welcoming new registrations, this initial period allows our team to match profiles with care rather than speed. If your preferences are specific — a particular city, sect, practice level, or profession — it may take a little longer to find an introduction that genuinely fits. We will never send an introduction just to fill a slot. Every introduction we send is one we stand behind.
The introduction card shows: first name, age, city, sect, religious practice level, highest education, profession, three self-described character traits, and whether a Wali is registered and actively managing the profile. It never shows a photo, a WhatsApp number, or full personal details.
Both. Humraah uses a combination of weighted algorithmic matching — based on criteria including sect, practice level, city preference, education, age range, and family expectations — alongside human review before introductions are sent. The platform surfaces the most compatible introductions, and our team ensures each one meets quality and appropriateness standards before it reaches you.
LATER moves the current introduction to the end of your queue. Your other introductions arrive normally — and this one returns to you after you have responded to the rest. It gives you time to consult family without losing the introduction. There is no time limit on LATER.
No. If you say NO, the other family is never told it was a NO. They only see that the introduction did not proceed. Your decision is completely private. Their dignity is preserved. There is no awkward notification, no rejection message, no indication of reason.
Both families receive the other’s complete biodata — all 5 profile blocks. Neither family is told until both have said YES. They then have 3 days to review the full biodata and decide: PROCEED to chat, or PASS. If both PROCEED, the 5-day supervised chat opens. Photos become visible inside the chat via a toggle in the header.
The chat is open for 5 days with unlimited messages. An automatic content filter blocks inappropriate language. A photo toggle in the chat header lets each family view the other’s photos when they choose. On Day 3, a gentle Istikhara reminder is sent to both families privately. On Day 5, both families are asked: PROCEED or CLOSE? PROCEED means contact exchange and offline continuation. CLOSE ends the chat gracefully.
Contact details — WhatsApp numbers — are exchanged between both families. The conversation continues offline, as families. Humraah’s role ends here. The rishta process then follows whatever path the two families decide together — meeting in person, involving elders, proceeding toward Nikah, or deciding not to continue. It is entirely in the families’ hands.
Not automatically. Once a NO response is given, that introduction is closed. However, in exceptional circumstances — where you believe a decision was made in error — contact us on WhatsApp and we will consider the situation personally. We do not reverse NO responses lightly, but we are human and understand families sometimes need a second look.
Yes. You can have more than one active 5-day supervised chat running at the same time. Each chat is kept entirely separate — neither family has any visibility into your other conversations. We do ask that you bring full honesty and genuine consideration to every chat you have open. The process is built around dignity, and that applies to how you engage with every family.
On Day 5, if you need more time, contact us on WhatsApp before the chat closes. We review extension requests on a case-by-case basis. If both families indicate they need more time to consult elders or complete Istikhara, we may extend the chat by a fixed period. This is human discretion, not a guaranteed feature. CAT 4
Pricing & Payment
Pricing & Payment

₹499. The Complete Story.

Everything about ₹499 — what it covers, how to pay, and what happens next.

Yes. ₹499 is your complete and total cost on Humraah. There are no hidden charges, no standard vs. premium versions, no feature unlocks, no renewal fees, no additional payment of any kind. Every feature — Aadhaar verification, 3 introductions per week, the 5-day chat, Family Manager path, WhatsApp alerts, introduction history, customer support — is included in the ₹499 registration. Nothing is locked behind a higher tier.
All standard Indian payment methods are accepted via our secure payment gateway — UPI (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm), debit cards, credit cards, net banking, and most mobile wallets. The payment is one-time and processed securely.
No. Your ₹499 registration does not expire. Introductions continue every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for as long as your profile is active — no renewal fee, no re-registration charge, no annual subscription. ₹499 once means ₹499 once. If you pause your profile and return after a year, there is no additional charge to resume.
A hadiah is a traditional Islamic gift of gratitude — after your Nikah, you give what you feel is right. There is no suggested amount. No invoice. No bracket. No receipt. We will never ask, never follow up, never make it a condition of anything. Humraah is community-supported: families who found their Humraah give freely, and that generosity sustains the platform for the next family searching.
The ₹499 registration fee is non-refundable once your profile has been verified and activated. However, if you encounter a genuine platform issue or a problem we caused, contact us on WhatsApp immediately. We investigate and resolve every concern personally. If a profile is verified to have been misrepresented, we take corrective action on the platform.
₹499 always — for every family, every section, every circumstance. There is no premium charge for Naya Safar and no higher price for any background. Equal dignity means equal cost. Always.
No. The Family Managed path is included in the ₹499 registration — same cost, full access. Whether the candidate manages their own profile or a parent manages it on their behalf, one account, one fee, everything included. Co-management (both parent and candidate access) is also included at no additional cost.
No. Re-activating a paused profile is free. Your original ₹499 registration covers all pausing and re-activation for as long as your profile remains with us.
Contact us on WhatsApp immediately with your registered mobile number. We will verify your payment and manually complete your registration. No one loses their ₹499 to a technical error. CAT 5
For Families & The Wali Role
For Families & The Wali Role

Walis, Guardians & Parents

How parents, guardians, and the wali participate in the Humraah process.

Yes — completely. The Family Managed path lets a parent or guardian do everything: register, fill the profile, receive all introductions, respond YES, NO, or LATER, and manage the chat. All WhatsApp alerts go to the parent’s number. The candidate does not need to be actively using the platform. Whether or not they are added as co-manager later is entirely the family’s decision.
When an account is Family Managed or has a registered Wali, the introduction card shows a highlighted row: Wali: [relationship] — Registered and actively managing. This tells the receiving family that proper Islamic guardianship is involved before any conversation begins. The Wali’s name and contact are not shown — only their relationship (Father, Mother, Brother, Uncle, etc.) and their active status.
The Wali’s role is built into the profile structure from the start, not added as an afterthought. The Wali registers on the account, receives all introductions and responses, and participates in the supervised chat on behalf of — or alongside — the candidate. Acceptable relationships include Father, Mother, Brother, Uncle, or other appropriate guardian as per the family’s understanding of Islamic guardianship.
Yes. Co-management allows both the Wali and the candidate to access the account, receive WhatsApp alerts, and participate in the process together. The Wali retains primary authority on the account.
You can specify preferences for: city (yours or open to others), age range, sect, practice level (practicing, moderately practicing, cultural Muslim), education level, and whether the other family has children from a previous marriage. These preferences inform the matching process but are treated as preferences — not absolute filters — so introductions remain thoughtful, not mechanical.
You can indicate a city preference in your profile and the matching process will prioritise profiles from your preferred city. However, we encourage families to remain open — geography is one factor in a marriage, not the whole of it. Our team may occasionally include a nearby-city introduction when the compatibility is strong.
You can pause your profile at any time and reactivate when the family is ready. If you register and then decide the timing is not right, pause from Account Settings. No introductions will arrive while paused. No additional charge applies when you resume.
The Family Managed path is designed for a parent or guardian registering for their child. If you are registering on behalf of a sibling as their guardian, please contact us on WhatsApp first. We will confirm the appropriate setup for your situation before you proceed.
Not directly through the platform currently. If you wish to help a family register, the simplest approach is to share humraah.in with them and offer to assist through the process. We are working on a gift registration option — if this matters to you, let us know on WhatsApp.
Yes. The Family Manager can be in India and manage the profile for a candidate living abroad. The registration requires an Indian WhatsApp number for the account and an Indian Aadhaar card for verification. The candidate’s location can be listed as abroad, and their openness to relocation can be marked clearly on the profile. Introductions will account for this in the matching process.
Your profile is not publicly browsable — it is only ever shown as part of a specific introduction sent to a specific family. You can see in your Introduction History which introductions have been sent from your side and what responses have come back. You can see when a mutual YES has been established. But you cannot see who else may have been shown your card — this protects both sides equally. CAT 6
Pehla Rishta — First Marriage
Pehla Rishta — First Marriage

Pehla Rishta — The First Step

Everything specific to Humraah’s first-marriage section.

Pehla Rishta is Humraah’s section for first marriages — for Muslim families whose son or daughter is seeking their first spouse. It is a dignified, halal, Aadhaar-verified process where families are introduced to one another through a structured, family-first approach.
There is no upper age limit. The minimum age for any person seeking marriage on Humraah is 21 years for men and 18 years for women — in line with Indian legal requirements. Families are encouraged to register when they are genuinely ready for the process to begin.
Pehla Rishta is not a browsable directory or a profile catalogue. There is no swiping, no viewing counters, no public profiles. Every introduction is sent privately, one at a time, to a specific family based on compatibility. Every profile is Aadhaar-verified. The Wali’s role is built in. It is the rishta process as it should be — dignified, private, and family-centred.
The profile has 5 blocks: (1) Basic details — name, age, city, sect. (2) Faith and practice — practice level, prayer frequency, specific practices. (3) Education and career — degree, institution, profession, income range (optional). (4) Physical details — height, complexion (optional). (5) Family background — parents’ background, siblings, family values, living arrangement expectations.
Each person can have one active profile in one section at a time. If you have a son registering for Pehla Rishta and a widowed parent also seeking a new marriage, each would need to register as separate individual accounts.
By default, the matching process prioritises compatibility of sect preference. If you are open to introductions across sects, you can indicate this in your preferences. Humraah does not make assumptions about sect compatibility — the family’s stated preferences are followed. CAT 7
Naya Safar — Second Marriage
Naya Safar — Second Marriage

Naya Safar — A New Journey

For Muslim families beginning again after divorce or the loss of a spouse.

Naya Safar — which means "New Journey" — is Humraah’s section for Muslims seeking marriage after a previous marriage has ended, whether through divorce or the death of a spouse. It was built with the same dignity, privacy, and Islamic values as Pehla Rishta, designed specifically for the emotional texture of beginning again.
Yes. Naya Safar is for anyone beginning again after any form of the end of a previous marriage — widows, widowers, and divorcees alike. You do not need to explain your circumstances to anyone on the platform. Your reason is your own, and it is honoured.
No. You are not required to state the reason for your divorce on your profile or during the introduction process. The introduction card indicates only your section (Naya Safar) and whether you have children. The details of your previous marriage are yours to share — or not — inside the 5-day supervised chat, when and if you feel ready.
The introduction card shows only: Has children from a previous marriage. Nothing else — no number, no ages, no gender, no circumstances. These details are yours to share inside the supervised chat when and if you choose. The card gives the other family the basic fact so they know from the start — without broadcasting your personal situation.
No. Pehla Rishta and Naya Safar are entirely separate sections. Introductions are sent within sections — a Pehla Rishta family will not be introduced to a Naya Safar family, and vice versa. This protects both journeys and ensures every introduction is appropriate to the stage of life.
Humraah does not impose a waiting period. Islamic tradition includes the concept of iddah — the waiting period after divorce or the death of a spouse — and we encourage families to ensure this has been observed before registering. We trust you to proceed with integrity. When you are ready, we are here.
There should not be — and Humraah actively works to ensure there is none on our platform. Naya Safar was built because every Muslim deserves a second chance at a happy, halal marriage, and because Islam explicitly honours and encourages remarriage. Every family on Naya Safar has come through something difficult. They deserve dignity, not judgement.
Yes. The length of your previous marriage does not determine your eligibility for Naya Safar. Whether your previous marriage lasted a few months or many years, Naya Safar is open to you.
No. If you have been previously married, your section is Naya Safar. This is because the families you will meet there are better suited to your life stage and circumstances, and because the Naya Safar process is designed with this in mind.
₹499 always — for every Muslim family, every section, every circumstance. Equal dignity means equal cost. Always. CAT 8
Islamic Perspective & Values
Islamic Perspective & Values

Built on Islamic Principles

How Humraah relates to Islamic principles, the halal process, and religious practice.

The permissibility of using a matrimonial service to find a spouse is widely accepted across Islamic scholarship — what matters is that the process is conducted with proper intent, Islamic boundaries, and family involvement. Humraah is designed from the ground up to support this: no direct contact between candidates before both families consent, the Wali built into the process, photo privacy for women, and a supervised chat that replaces the casual, boundary-crossing formats of other platforms.
Several features are built specifically for this. No direct candidate-to-candidate contact at any stage without family knowledge. Wali registration is built into the profile and shown on the introduction card. Female photos are hidden by default — visible only inside the supervised family chat after mutual consent from both sides. The chat is supervised with content filtering, not an open messaging channel. An Istikhara reminder is built into the chat process on Day 3.
On Day 3 of the 5-day supervised chat, both families receive a gentle, private reminder to perform Istikhara — the Islamic prayer of seeking guidance — before making their decision. It is not a notification to the other family. It is a personal reminder, sent to each family separately, at the most natural point in the process. It reflects our belief that this decision belongs, first, to Allah.
No. Humraah is open to all sects and schools of thought within Islam. The platform does not endorse any specific Madhab, and users can specify their sect preference in their profile. Introductions account for this preference.
We do not seek or claim endorsements we have not earned. Humraah’s credibility rests on its process, its architecture, and the families who have found their Humraah. We work with community leaders and Imams across India — not for marketing, but because they are a natural part of the matrimonial process for Muslim families.
Yes. Humraah is open to all Muslim families, regardless of sect — Sunni, Shia, Deobandi, Barelvi, Salafi, and all others. You specify your sect in your profile, and your preference for your spouse’s sect is part of the matching criteria. We do not take a position on any sect, and we never will.
Humraah is designed for families who need the introduction to happen through a dignified, verified process — not for formalising a relationship that has already developed outside the platform. If you have already met someone and wish to proceed, the appropriate path is to involve your respective families and continue through traditional channels.
Humraah’s approach to Islamic values is embedded in design and process, not in language. We do not repeat religious phrases as marketing. Instead, the Wali role is built in. The chat has an Istikhara reminder. Photo modesty is enforced architecturally. Family involvement is structurally enabled. We believe actions reflect values more honestly than words. CAT 9
