Section 01

Who Can Use Humraah

To register on Humraah, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Be a Muslim seeking a Muslim spouse for the purpose of Nikah
  • Be an Indian citizen or a Non-Resident Indian (NRI) holding a valid Indian Aadhaar card
  • Hold an active Indian WhatsApp number
  • Maintain only one active Humraah profile at any time

If you register on behalf of a family member through the Family Managed path, you confirm that you have their full knowledge and explicit consent to do so. You accept these terms on their behalf and are jointly responsible for compliance.

By completing registration, you represent that all information provided is accurate, current, and your own.

Section 02

Registration & Payment

Registration requires a one-time payment of ₹499. This fee is non-refundable once your profile has been verified and activated. There are no monthly subscriptions, no renewal fees, and no premium tiers. Your registration remains active until you choose to deactivate your account.

After your Nikah, you may choose to offer a voluntary hadiah (gift of gratitude). This is entirely voluntary — no amount is suggested, no invoice is issued, and we will never ask. The hadiah sustains Humraah for the families who come after you.

Payments are processed through third-party payment gateway providers. Humraah does not store your card or banking details. Your payment gateway's own terms and privacy policy govern the processing of your payment.

Section 03

Profile Accuracy & Verification

You are solely responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all information on your profile. Misrepresentation of any kind — including but not limited to education, profession, income, marital history, health information, or photographs — is grounds for immediate and permanent account termination without refund.

Your identity is verified against the UIDAI Aadhaar database via OTP at the point of registration. Aadhaar OTP verification confirms your identity — it does not verify any other information you provide in your profile. The accuracy of all profile content beyond identity remains your sole responsibility. Humraah does not independently verify self-reported profile information unless specific concerns are raised through our reporting process.

Attempting to use another person's Aadhaar for verification is a criminal offence under Indian law, in addition to being grounds for immediate permanent account termination.

Section 04

Our Matching Process

Humraah uses a combination of three elements to facilitate introductions between compatible Muslim families: Aadhaar OTP identity verification, algorithmic profile matching, and human review by the Humraah team.

Aadhaar OTP verification

Confirms the real identity of every registered member. Every active profile on Humraah belongs to a verified individual.

Algorithmic matching

Evaluates profile information provided by members — including faith, education, family background, and preferences — to identify potentially compatible introductions. These algorithmic suggestions are one input in the process, not a determination of compatibility.

Human review

By the Humraah team forms part of the matching and moderation process. The team may review flagged profiles, escalate safety concerns, and apply judgement to the introduction process.

Humraah does not operate a community vouching system, a community guarantor programme, or any third-party endorsement mechanism. Introductions are made on the basis of Aadhaar-verified profiles, algorithmic assessment, and human review — and are subject to Humraah's sole discretion.

No matching process — algorithmic or human — can guarantee compatibility, character, or marriage outcomes. Members are responsible for conducting their own careful due diligence throughout the introduction and meeting process.

Section 05

Prohibited Conduct

The following are strictly prohibited on the Humraah platform:

  • Sharing contact information — including phone numbers, email addresses, social media handles, or external URLs — before both families have chosen PROCEED at the conclusion of a supervised chat
  • Creating, submitting, or maintaining a fake, incomplete, or deliberately misleading profile
  • Using the platform for any purpose other than a genuine matrimonial search culminating in Nikah
  • Harassment, inappropriate language, threats, unsolicited pressure, or any conduct that causes another user to feel uncomfortable or unsafe
  • Registering or operating more than one account at any time
  • Sharing screenshots, copies, or reproductions of introduction cards or supervised chat conversations outside the platform
  • Attempting to circumvent the supervised chat system, content filters, or any other platform safeguard
  • Commercial activity, solicitation, or use of the platform for marketing, recruitment, or data collection of any kind
  • Using AI tools, deepfake technology, voice cloning software, or any synthetic media generation tool to create or enhance any profile photograph, voice note, or identity document
  • Soliciting, requesting, or accepting financial transfers of any kind from another user or their family members, at any stage and under any pretext
  • Making representations about immigration status, visa sponsorship, overseas residency, or settlement opportunities during any introduction or supervised chat
  • Discussing, negotiating, or demanding dowry in any form through any platform channel
  • Sharing your own or another person's Aadhaar number through the supervised chat or any other platform communication
  • Using the platform for any purpose that promotes communal division, religious hatred, sectarian prejudice, or extremism

Violations may result in immediate account suspension or permanent termination at Humraah's sole discretion, without prior notice and without refund.

Section 06

Safety & Reporting

Humraah maintains a zero-tolerance policy for harassment, inappropriate communication, impersonation, misrepresentation, threats, and any conduct that causes another user to feel unsafe. This applies across all interaction on the platform — introduction cards, supervised chats, and any contact facilitated by Humraah.

How to report a violation

Contact Humraah immediately via WhatsApp (+91 77091 44419) or email at rishta@humraah.in. Describe the incident clearly and include the relevant introduction or chat reference where available. All reports are reviewed within 24 hours.

  • Reported accounts may be suspended pending investigation
  • Confirmed violations result in permanent account termination without refund
  • Humraah may preserve relevant records for investigation and, where lawfully required, to cooperate with law enforcement authorities
  • Users who submit false reports in bad faith are also subject to account termination

If you are in immediate danger or have been subjected to criminal conduct, contact local law enforcement directly. Humraah will cooperate fully with all lawful law enforcement requests.

Section 07

The Supervised Chat

The 5-day supervised chat is subject to an automatic content filter that blocks phone numbers, email addresses, social media handles, and external URLs. This is a platform rule — not a technical limitation. Deliberately attempting to circumvent this filter or share contact information during a supervised chat is a violation of these terms and grounds for immediate termination.

The supervised chat closes automatically at midnight on Day 5. There are no extensions under any circumstances.

Humraah reserves the right to review flagged conversations for safety and compliance purposes. The content of flagged conversations may be used as evidence in any investigation under Section 06.

Section 08

Third-Party Services

Humraah's platform integrates with third-party services including, without limitation, the UIDAI Aadhaar verification system, payment gateway providers, and WhatsApp messaging services. Humraah does not control these third-party services and is not responsible for any interruption, error, delay, data loss, or change in their operation.

Your use of any third-party service accessed through the platform is subject to that service's own terms and privacy policy. Humraah provides these integrations as a service convenience and makes no representations or warranties about them.

If Aadhaar OTP verification services are unavailable or disrupted due to any action by UIDAI or any government authority, Humraah may adopt alternative identity verification methods at its sole discretion, or may suspend new registrations temporarily until services are restored. Existing verified profiles will not be affected.

Humraah shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or delay caused by the unavailability, error, or change in operation of any third-party service.

Section 09

Data Protection & DPDPA Compliance

Humraah is committed to complying with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA) and all applicable Indian data protection law.

Personal data collected during registration and platform use is processed solely for the purpose of facilitating matrimonial introductions between Muslim families. Humraah will never sell your personal data to any third party.

You have the right to access, correct, and request erasure of your personal data, subject to the terms of our Privacy Policy and applicable law. You may exercise these rights by contacting our Grievance Officer at the details set out in Section 17.

Full details of how we collect, store, process, protect, and delete your personal data — including our Aadhaar data handling and deletion commitments, and WhatsApp data use — are set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms and conditions.

Section 10

Intellectual Property

All platform content, design, code, branding, logos, written content, features, and systems of Humraah — including without limitation the name "Humraah", the introduction card format, the matching algorithm, the supervised chat architecture, and all associated intellectual property — are owned by Humraah and its founders. Unauthorised reproduction, copying, scraping, reverse engineering, or use of any kind is strictly prohibited.

Your profile content

You retain ownership of the content you contribute to your profile — including text, photographs, and stated preferences. By registering, you grant Humraah a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display your profile content to algorithmically matched and human-reviewed families within the platform for the sole purpose of facilitating matrimonial introductions. This licence ends upon deactivation of your account.

Introduction cards

The structured format, design, and presentation of Humraah's introduction cards are proprietary. Screenshots, copies, or reproductions of introduction cards outside the platform are prohibited — both as a violation of these terms and as an infringement of Humraah's intellectual property rights.

Section 11

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Humraah, its founders, employees, agents, and representatives from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses — including reasonable legal fees — arising from or in connection with:

  • Your use of the platform in breach of these terms
  • Any content you submit, post, or provide through the platform
  • Any misrepresentation made in your profile
  • Your violation of any applicable law or the rights of any third party
  • Any dispute between you and another Humraah user arising from or relating to a platform introduction

This indemnification obligation survives the termination of your account and these terms.

Section 12

Force Majeure

Humraah shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations under these terms where such failure or delay results from any cause beyond Humraah's reasonable control. This includes, without limitation: acts of God, natural disasters, pandemic or public health emergency, war, civil unrest, government or regulatory action, changes in law, actions by UIDAI or any government authority affecting Aadhaar services, internet or telecommunications infrastructure failure, power outages, cyberattacks, or any other event outside Humraah's reasonable control.

In such circumstances, Humraah will take reasonable steps to minimise disruption and will work to restore normal service as promptly as possible.

Section 13

Account Termination

You may deactivate your account at any time from your account Settings. Your profile data will be scheduled for deletion within 30 days of deactivation, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Humraah reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate any account that violates these terms, without prior notice and without refund of the registration fee. Grounds for termination include — but are not limited to — misrepresentation, prohibited conduct, safety violations, fraudulent Aadhaar use, and any conduct that Humraah reasonably determines may cause harm to the platform, its members, or any third party.

Upon termination by Humraah, you may not re-register on the platform. Any attempt to re-register following a termination is itself a violation of these terms and may be reported to relevant authorities where appropriate.

Section 14

Limitation of Liability

Humraah provides a matrimonial introduction platform and does not guarantee any specific outcome, including but not limited to: marriage, compatibility, the accuracy of member-provided information beyond Aadhaar identity verification, or the conduct of any member inside or outside the platform.

To the maximum extent permitted under applicable Indian law, Humraah's aggregate liability to any registered user for any claim arising from or related to use of the platform — whether in contract, tort, or otherwise — shall not exceed the registration fee paid by that user (₹499).

Humraah is not liable for:

  • Any loss or damage — financial, emotional, or otherwise — arising from introductions made through the platform
  • Decisions made by families based on platform introductions or algorithmic matching suggestions
  • Events occurring after contact details are exchanged between families following PROCEED
  • Technical interruptions, downtime, or data loss caused by third-party service providers
  • The unavailability, error, or suspension of UIDAI Aadhaar services or any government-operated system
  • The conduct of any member on or off the platform
  • Any reliance placed on information provided by another member

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under Indian law.

Section 15

Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to any conflict of law principles.

Amicable resolution first

If a dispute arises from or relates to use of Humraah, the parties agree to first attempt resolution directly and informally by contacting Humraah via WhatsApp or email at rishta@humraah.in. A genuine good-faith attempt at resolution must be made for a minimum of 30 days before either party may initiate formal proceedings.

Jurisdiction

If amicable resolution is not achieved within 30 days, any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Nashik, Maharashtra, India.

Nothing in this clause prevents Humraah from seeking emergency injunctive or other equitable relief from any court of competent jurisdiction where necessary to protect its intellectual property, platform integrity, or user safety.

Section 16

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time to reflect changes in the platform, our services, or applicable law. The date of the most recent revision is always displayed at the top of this page.

Significant changes will be communicated to registered users via WhatsApp. Continued use of the platform after notification of any change constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. If you do not agree to the updated terms, you should deactivate your account before the changes take effect.

AI-Generated Content, Deepfakes & Synthetic Profiles

The use of artificial intelligence to generate fake matrimonial profiles is the fastest-growing vector of matrimonial fraud in India, with over ₹22,000 crore in losses recorded in 2024 and AI deepfakes identified as the dominant fraud method in 2025. Humraah maintains a zero-tolerance policy on synthetically generated profile content.

The following are expressly prohibited:

  • Submitting AI-generated, deepfake, morphed, digitally altered, or synthetically created photographs as profile photographs
  • Using voice cloning or AI-generated voice notes in any communication on the platform
  • Submitting forged, digitally altered, or AI-generated identity documents at any stage of registration or verification
  • Creating profiles that impersonate any real or fictional person through synthetic media

Humraah reserves the right to use automated detection tools to identify potentially synthetic profile content. Any profile where synthetic content is detected or credibly reported will be suspended immediately pending review. Confirmed cases will result in permanent termination and referral to law enforcement under applicable provisions of the Information Technology Act 2000, the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023, and the IT (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2026.

Under IT Rules 2026, intermediaries are required to warn users against generating or disseminating deepfakes used for impersonation or fraud. Humraah will act on reported deepfake or synthetic content within 3 hours of receiving a credible complaint, in compliance with these obligations.

Section 19 · Threat-Mapped

Prohibition on Dowry-Related Communication

The Dowry Prohibition Act 1961 makes it a criminal offence to give, take, or demand dowry. The BNS 2023 provides for prosecution for cruelty connected to dowry demands. A matrimonial platform through which such demands are communicated could face co-liability and regulatory scrutiny.

Humraah operates a zero-tolerance policy on dowry in all forms. Any communication on the platform — whether during the supervised chat, through introduction cards, or any other platform feature — that involves:

  • Direct or indirect demands for dowry, whether monetary, in-kind, property, or otherwise
  • Conditional expressions of interest, acceptance, or PROCEED contingent on financial transfers from either family
  • Framing financial demands as "settlement", "adjustment", or any similar euphemism

…constitutes a prohibited conduct violation and grounds for immediate termination. Humraah will report such communications to law enforcement where it has reasonable grounds to believe a violation of the Dowry Prohibition Act 1961 or applicable provisions of the BNS 2023 has occurred.

By registering, each user confirms they will not use the platform to communicate, negotiate, demand, or facilitate any arrangement in violation of the Dowry Prohibition Act 1961. Users agree to indemnify Humraah against any claim, investigation, or proceeding arising from dowry-related conduct on or off the platform.

Note on Mehr

Mehr (mahr) is an Islamic obligation of the husband to his wife, determined between the families themselves as a matter of Muslim personal law. It is distinct from dowry in both law and in Islamic teaching. The platform does not regulate, facilitate, or take any position on mehr arrangements between consenting families.

Section 20 · Threat-Mapped

Minor Protection & Age Verification

Humraah is strictly an adult platform. The minimum age for registration is 18 years, consistent with the legal age of majority in India.

Humraah conducts mandatory Aadhaar OTP verification at the point of registration. The verified date of birth from UIDAI's database is used to confirm that the registrant meets the minimum age requirement. Any profile where the UIDAI-verified date of birth indicates the registrant is under 18 years of age will be immediately and permanently rejected without refund.

Where a minor gains access to the platform by providing false information, misusing another person's Aadhaar, or through any other deceptive means, the sole responsibility for all consequences arising therefrom rests with that individual and, where applicable, with the parent or guardian who facilitated or permitted such access. Humraah bears no liability in such circumstances.

Humraah will cooperate fully, promptly, and without awaiting a formal court order with any law enforcement investigation involving a minor who has illegitimately accessed the platform. All records relevant to such cases will be preserved and made available to law enforcement as required.

The display of romantic, suggestive, or inappropriate content toward any user who may be a minor is a serious criminal offence under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012 (POCSO). The platform's supervised chat content filters are designed to prevent such content. Any attempt to send such content will result in immediate termination and mandatory reporting to authorities, regardless of whether the recipient is confirmed to be a minor.

Section 21 · Threat-Mapped

Humraah's Status as a Compliant Intermediary

Humraah operates as an intermediary as defined under Section 2(1)(w) of the Information Technology Act, 2000. Humraah does not author, edit, curate, or endorse user-generated profile content. Its role is to provide a structured, verified platform through which Muslim families may be introduced to one another for the sole purpose of matrimony.

To maintain its intermediary status and preserve safe harbour protection under Section 79 of the IT Act, Humraah:

  • Publishes and enforces these Terms & Conditions, which explicitly prohibit unlawful, misleading, harassing, and harmful content
  • Maintains a named, reachable Grievance Officer who responds to complaints within 48 hours
  • Implements a notice-and-takedown system: upon receiving actual knowledge of unlawful content through a credible complaint, court order, or government directive, Humraah will disable or remove such content within the timeframes prescribed under applicable law
  • Cooperates fully with law enforcement and government authorities as required under Indian law
  • Acts on deepfake or non-consensual intimate image reports within 3 hours and 24 hours respectively, as required under IT Rules 2026 and the IT Rules 2021

Nothing in these terms constitutes Humraah endorsing or verifying (beyond Aadhaar identity) any profile content submitted by users.

Section 22 · Threat-Mapped

Consumer Protection Act 2019 — Service Scope & Grievance Mechanism

Humraah acknowledges that it is an e-commerce entity providing a service as defined under the Consumer Protection Act 2019 and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules 2020.

The service provided by Humraah in exchange for the ₹499 registration fee consists exclusively of:

  • Aadhaar OTP identity verification of the registrant
  • Activation of a matrimonial profile on the Humraah platform
  • Access to algorithmic profile matching and introduction suggestions
  • Facilitation of supervised 5-day chats between matched families who express mutual interest

The following do not form part of the service, and Humraah makes no commitment or warranty regarding them:

  • Any specified number of introductions, matches, or supervised chats
  • The accuracy of any self-reported profile information beyond Aadhaar identity
  • The character, background, intentions, or conduct of any other registered user
  • Marriage as an outcome
  • Any particular timeline within which introductions will be made
  • Service continuity during outages caused by third-party providers, UIDAI, or events beyond Humraah's control

Consumer complaints may be submitted to our Grievance Officer at rishta@humraah.in. Humraah will acknowledge receipt within 48 hours and provide a substantive response or resolution within 30 days, in compliance with the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules 2020.

A user's dissatisfaction with the outcome of the matrimonial process — including receiving few or no introductions — does not constitute "deficiency of service" under Section 2(11) of the Consumer Protection Act 2019, where Humraah has activated the profile and made the introduction system available. Nothing in this clause prevents any user from approaching a consumer forum with a bona fide complaint regarding a demonstrable deficiency in the service as defined above.

Section 23 · Threat-Mapped

Aadhaar Data Compliance

Humraah is committed to full compliance with the Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act 2016, UIDAI Circular No. 14 of 2025, and all associated regulations and circulars.

Specifically:

  • Raw Aadhaar numbers processed for OTP verification are not stored in Humraah's open business databases
  • All Aadhaar-related data is handled in accordance with UIDAI's Aadhaar Data Vault (ADV) requirements, using AES-256 or higher encryption as mandated
  • Only UIDAI-approved authentication pathways are used for Aadhaar OTP verification
  • Aadhaar data is not shared with any third party except as required for verification through UIDAI's authorised systems

The Aadhaar number provided by a registrant is used exclusively for identity verification. It is not displayed to other users, incorporated into introduction cards, shared with any other family, or used for any purpose other than the verification for which consent was given at registration.

Users must not share their own or any other person's Aadhaar number through the supervised chat or any other platform channel. Sharing of Aadhaar numbers through the platform constitutes prohibited conduct under Section 05 of these terms.

Section 24 · Threat-Mapped

Data Breach Notification

In the event of a personal data breach affecting user data held by Humraah, Humraah will:

  • Report the breach to the Data Protection Board of India within the timeframes prescribed under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 and its associated rules and regulations
  • Notify affected registered users via WhatsApp, without undue delay, once the nature and scope of the breach has been assessed and contained
  • Take immediate technical and organisational steps to contain the breach, assess its impact, and prevent recurrence
  • Cooperate fully with the Data Protection Board and any other relevant authority in the investigation and resolution of the breach

Humraah implements reasonable technical and organisational security measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the personal data it processes. These include access controls, encryption of stored data, secure communication protocols, and periodic security reviews.

No digital platform can guarantee absolute security against all forms of cyberattack or data breach. To the extent permitted under applicable Indian law, Humraah's liability in the event of a data breach is limited to the provisions of Section 14 of these terms.

Users are required to report any suspected unauthorised access to their Humraah account — including suspicious chat messages, login alerts, or introduction cards they did not request — immediately to the Grievance Officer at rishta@humraah.in or +91 77091 44419.

Section 25 · Threat-Mapped

Non-Consensual Image Sharing & Photograph Misuse

All photographs submitted by a user to their Humraah profile remain the personal property of that user, subject only to the limited display licence granted to Humraah in Section 10.

No user, family member, wali, or any other third party who views photographs through the Humraah platform — whether on an introduction card or in any other context — has any right to download, copy, screenshot, print, forward, distribute, share, publish, modify, or reproduce those photographs in any medium, for any purpose, without the express written consent of the photograph owner.

Any non-consensual distribution of photographs obtained through the platform is:

  • A violation of these terms and grounds for immediate permanent termination
  • A potential criminal offence under applicable provisions of the IT Act 2000, the BNS 2023, and the DPDPA 2023
  • Subject to immediate reporting by Humraah to law enforcement where warranted

Humraah will act on all reports of non-consensual photograph sharing within 24 hours of receiving a complaint, in compliance with the IT (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules 2021 as amended.

Female profile photographs — default hidden

Female profiles on Humraah have photographs hidden by default. This is a core platform safety feature. Humraah will not display a female user's photographs to any other user without the profile owner's explicit, in-platform election to make them visible. This setting cannot be overridden by any other user, family member, or platform administrator.

Section 26 · Threat-Mapped

Prohibition on Financial Solicitation & Fraud

Matrimonial cyber fraud — using fake profiles to build emotional trust and then soliciting money — is the single largest category of financial cyber fraud in India, with over ₹22,000 crore in losses in 2024.

No user of Humraah may, at any stage of an introduction facilitated through the platform, directly or indirectly solicit, request, or accept any financial transfer, cryptocurrency payment, loan, gift, or any other asset from another registered user or their family members.

This prohibition applies unconditionally to all requests framed as:

  • Emergency financial assistance
  • Visa, customs, or immigration fees
  • Travel or relocation costs
  • Investment or business opportunities
  • Any other pretext, however legitimate-sounding

If any user receives such a request, they must:

  1. Immediately report it to Humraah at rishta@humraah.in or +91 77091 44419
  2. Report it to the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal at cybercrime.gov.in or helpline 1930
  3. Not transfer any money under any circumstances

Humraah bears no liability for any financial loss suffered by any user as a result of fraud by another registered user, whether during or after the introduction process. Aadhaar verification confirms real identity — it does not guarantee the character, financial integrity, or intentions of any individual.

Section 27 · Threat-Mapped

Communal Harmony & Religious Misuse

Humraah serves the Muslim community of India without distinction of sect, biradari, school of thought, madhab, ethnicity, regional origin, or linguistic background.

The following are expressly prohibited and constitute grounds for immediate termination:

  • Content that promotes prejudice, hatred, or hostility toward any sect or group within Islam
  • Content that promotes or incites prejudice, violence, or hatred toward any religious, ethnic, or social community
  • Misrepresentation of Humraah's positions or identity to promote any extremist, sectarian, or communal agenda
  • Use of the platform to recruit for or promote any organisation or cause beyond the purpose of matrimonial introduction

Humraah is a matrimonial introduction platform. It is not a religious authority, fatwa-issuing body, or Islamic legal institution. Nothing communicated through the platform by Humraah or its team constitutes a religious ruling, fatwa, or legal opinion on matters of Islamic law or personal law.

Content promoting communal violence, religious hatred, or extremism will be removed within 24 hours of detection or notification and will be reported to law enforcement under applicable provisions of the BNS 2023 and IT Rules 2021.

Section 28 · Threat-Mapped

NRI & Cross-Border Members

Humraah is registered and operates under Indian law from Nashik, Maharashtra, India. NRI members accessing the platform must hold a valid Indian Aadhaar card and must meet all eligibility requirements in Section 01 of these terms.

By registering, NRI members explicitly confirm that:

  • They accept Indian law as the governing law for all matters arising from use of the platform
  • Any dispute arising from platform use is subject exclusively to the jurisdiction of the courts of Nashik, Maharashtra, India
  • They will not attempt to invoke the jurisdiction of any foreign court or legal system in connection with any claim against Humraah

The ₹499 registration fee must be paid in Indian Rupees through Humraah's authorised payment gateway. Humraah is not responsible for any foreign transaction fees, currency conversion charges, or payment declines arising from cross-border payment processing.

Important advisory for NRI families

Matrimonial fraud frequently targets NRI families by misrepresenting immigration status, visa sponsorship capacity, or overseas settlement prospects. Humraah strongly advises all NRI families and India-based families considering NRI introductions to independently verify all representations made regarding immigration status, overseas employment, residency, income, and assets before proceeding.

If any introduction involves representations about visa sponsorship or overseas opportunities, and a request for money of any kind follows, treat this as a high-risk fraud indicator and report immediately to Humraah and to cybercrime.gov.in (helpline: 1930).

Section 29 · Threat-Mapped

Algorithmic Matching — Scope, Limitations & Non-Discrimination

Humraah's matching system uses algorithmic processing of profile data to generate introduction suggestions. This clause defines the scope, limitations, and principles governing that process.

What the algorithm does

The algorithm processes profile information voluntarily submitted by registered members — including sect, education level, profession, city, family type, and stated partner preferences — to identify profiles that may be compatible based on those declared inputs.

What the algorithm does not do

The algorithm does not apply any weighting, penalty, or preference based on characteristics that are not declared by the user in their own profile preferences. It does not discriminate on the basis of skin tone, disability status, or any other characteristic protected under applicable Indian law that the user has not themselves stated as a preference.

Limitations

No algorithm can assess human character, emotional compatibility, sincerity of intent, or long-term marital suitability. Algorithmic suggestions are one input in an introduction process that also involves human review by the Humraah team. A suggestion from the algorithm is not a recommendation, endorsement, or guarantee of any kind.

The number of algorithmic suggestions a user receives depends on the availability of compatible registered profiles in their area, sect preference, and timeframe. Receiving few or no suggestions does not constitute deficiency of service where the limitation arises from pool size rather than platform error.

Humraah reserves the right to update, retrain, or modify its matching algorithm at any time to improve accuracy, correct errors, or comply with applicable law. Material changes to how the algorithm operates will be disclosed in an updated version of these terms.

Section 30 · Threat-Mapped

Emotional Distress & Psychological Harm

Humraah acknowledges that the rishta process is deeply personal and emotionally significant. The search for a life partner involves hope, vulnerability, and — sometimes — disappointment. This is the nature of the process, not a failure of the platform.

Humraah is not a counselling, therapy, or emotional support service. The platform is an introduction service. No communication from Humraah's team, its matching system, or any other platform feature constitutes professional psychological, emotional, or mental health guidance.

Humraah is not liable for any emotional distress, psychological impact, or mental health consequences arising from:

  • Receiving an introduction the user finds unsuitable
  • Not receiving an introduction within an expected timeframe
  • A supervised chat that does not result in PROCEED
  • A post-PROCEED meeting that does not result in marriage
  • Any event or outcome in the matrimonial process after contact details are exchanged

These are natural features of any matrimonial search. They do not constitute "deficiency of service" as defined under the Consumer Protection Act 2019 or any other applicable law.

Users who are experiencing significant distress related to the matrimonial process are encouraged to speak with a trusted family member, community elder, or qualified mental health professional.
